William Arthur Smith Benson (1854-1924) was an English designer active in the Arts and Crafts Movement.  He first trained as an architect with Basil Champneys then turned to the design of and manufacture of domestic lighting in 1880.  Workshops were then established in Fulham for large scale production of metal wares with showrooms in Camden Hill Square and then 82 New Bond Street.  He remained active until 1920.
