To be offered for auction in our Antiques and Interiors Auction Wednesday 4th September
Tennis bracelets, also known as an eternity bracelet are lightweight and flexible and feature a uniformed row of  inline diamonds.  The serpentine like structure is a firm favourite with sporty women, due its durability. While diamonds are the traditional choice of stone in a tennis bracelet, they can be found with, coloured stones, such as emeralds and aquamarines. Coloured stones however, are not as robust as the diamond, thus, meaning the bracelets functionality is impaired.
Originally known as the eternity bracelet, the bracelet became widely known as a tennis bracelet due to the unfortunate circumstances of the 1987 U.S. Open. While playing a vigorous match, tennis star Chris Evert halted the game, asking for time to find her diamond bracelet that had fallen off mid play. The bracelet has been called the tennis bracelet since and the clasp holding the bracelet together has been improved offering more security than Evert experienced.

Elastolin is a trademark used by the German company O&M Hausser for the toy soldiers and other types of figures it manufactured from composite material and later from plastic. Founded in 1904 the company ended in 1943 when the German economy was put on a 'total war' footing.  Elastolin composition figures were manufactured in 40mm (4-cm), 65mm (6.5-cm), 70mm (7-cm), and 105mm (10.5 cm) scales.  The Elastolin catalogues of the 1930's describe the 7-cm figures as being "normal size" (normalgrosse) and the 4-cm figures as Miniatur-Soldaten
