The Model K or "Vertegrand" was designed by Henry Ziegler a Director at Steinway and Sons in 1903.  It is the oldest unchanged upright piano design currently in mass production.  Each Steinway piano consists of more than 12,000 individual pieces making it a masterpiece of craftsmanship and an artwork in itself.

This piano was commissioned in 1991 and took 9 months to build.
