Forget 'bonus points', Boldon Auctions are all about 'scoring tries'

We were caught a bit on the 'blindside' when this fabulous hand painted certificate gave us an 'ankle tap' as we were about to 'forward pass' it in the saleroom... The auctioneer got 'tunnel' vision when he clocked the local ephemera... A lot definitely not for the 'sin bin'. We anticipate a good 'ruck' between our customers interested in this fascinating lot, but remember, no 'shoeing' 👍 🏉

Lot 350. A hand painted certificate commemorating St. Stephens Parish Rugby and Football club.

To be sold in our Wednesday 16th June Antiques, Interiors and General Sale.

Make love not war

This fantastic collection of silk postcards sold in our Wednesday 2^nd June sale for a staggering £1700…

Silk postcards were a beautiful souvenir from the first world war and were commonly used by soldiers to send love and messages home.

The delicate hand embroidered silk was placed onto embossed paper and secured with a glued frame.

As you can see by the pictures the hand embroideries where delightfully intricate with an array of exciting bright colours.
