A fine Ship Yard model of the 'Empire Purcell', built by William Gray and Company Limited, West Hartlepool, in a mahogany cabinet, W 173cm, H 140cm, D 41cm. The 'Empire Purcell' was sunk on her maiden voyage on May 27th 1942 during the passage of Convoy PQ.16 to Russia. HMS Hyderabad rescued 26 sailors.
