Do we have the key to open up a good tune? We certainly have the pipes for it!
First used for ceremonial purposes around 900 CE the church pipe organ stands a grand example to its predecessor the pipe organ appearing 1100 years earlier. Pipe organs are not only popular in churches, but they can also be found in concert halls, schools, and even private properties.
The grand instruments use pressurised air to produce sound through organ pipes. The pipes are selected by one or more of the organ keys at a time to create differing pitches and volumes.
We have for Auction a fabulous single owner collection of harpsichords, grand pianos, square pianos, organs, Northumbrian pipes, recorders, guitars and other musical instruments.
To include:
John Broadwood and Sons, London
Robert Morley, London
Robert Deegan, Lancaster
Collard and Collard
Dennis Woolley
Johannes Morley
Thomas D'Almaine and Co.
The Auction Catalogue will be on-line from 5pm on Friday 19th March.

Whether hot or cold, how about a cast iron boiler that's really old?
Boilers have been used for centuries to heat baths, heat homes and even power steam trains and ships. Although the evolution of the boiler has gone from a cauldron on a hot fire to a compact, aesthetically pleasing metal box hidden in an airing cupboard it has not been without many different styles, sizes, and mechanical inventions.
This fantastic Cast Iron Portable Boiler featuring the words
‘The Edison Portable Boiler’ will be for sale in our Antique, Interiors,
General and Instrument Sale on Wednesday 24th March.
