Not one but two fabulous Bitossi pottery horses have just come in to the Saleroom.
Guido Bitossi established his pottery in Montelupo, near Florence in 1921. Following World War II Aldo Londi (1911-2003) became Creative Director bringing a wealth of expertise to the company. The iconic collection Rimini Blu was produced between 1955-1965 containing over 150 designs, including animals, jugs, vases and bowls all glazed in blue and embossed with abstract designs. Many other colour glazes were used at the pottery including red, green and orange.
These horses have the orange brown glaze and will be offered for Auction on the 18th of October (Antique and Interiors Sale).
