A white Bakelite cased Vitascope clock is to be offered for Sale.
Estimate £80 - £120.
This Art Deco Vitascope ship automaton clock is housed within a shaped white Bakelite case, having a three masted rocking sailing ship automaton above dial.
Labelled 'Vitascope Industries Ltd'.
These clocks were first designed by a Mr J. S. Thatcher and the ship is said to have been inspired by the famous tea clipper 'The Cutty Sark'. Manufactured in the Isle of Man; the clocks have cases of various colours including cream, brown, green, pink and white as seen here.
