A Bell-Boy hat or cap is a small round brimless cap with chinstrap, resembling a drum. Often worn as part of the uniform of a bellhop. Bellhops are members of hotel staff. The name derives from the old fashioned practice of the desk clerk ringing a bell to summon the bellhop to assist with guests bags.
