North East Saleroom Boldon Auction Galleries are delighted to welcome to their closely knit team, Ewan Duff as Auctioneer and Valuer.  Ewan joins us from 1818 Auctioneers, Cumbria and previously Mitchells of Cockermouth where he headed the Pictures, Imagery and Affordable Art auctions and the Toy auctions respectively. We are also thrilled that Harry Douglas who has been with Boldon Auction Galleries for over four years has progressed from part time photographer, full time porter and is now a Junior Auctioneer and Valuer.

Lot 386. Thomas Swift Hutton (1860-1935), watercolour, signed, dated 1920, 'Gull Rock Berwick Upon Tweed', 58cm x 88cm. Estimate £300-£500. For auction 29th January.


Thomas Swift Hutton (1865 - 1935). Landscape and coastal painter. Born in Edinburgh. Details of his early artistic training are not known but by the age of 27 he was exhibiting his work at the Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts. He later moved to Newcastle and began exhibiting at the Berwick Club and later both the Royal Academy and the Scottish Academy. His work can be seen at the Shipley Art Gallery and South Shields museum.
